I know absolutely nothing about tanning beds or how they are wired up. Its a commercial style bed Puretan Aruba 24 that was used with a Tmax timer at a salon. I have a v outlet in my garage from an RV hookup the prevous home owners used. From original pictures, that tanning bed use to have a knob on the top lid to set it up to 20 mins. That has been removed for the salon timer. My question is what would be the easiest way to get this back up and running safely of course. Can I wire a new knob or do I need to just get it hooked up to where I can plug it in my v and just use a plug in style timer? No markings or badges on the unit itself at all I could find. The only info on the tanning bed itself I can find are from sellers: Low Pressure Lamp Wattage:

How do I wire a tanning bed for use on a dedicated 20 amp breaker? My home was built in and originally had what we were told was in-wall radiant heating. Recently my wife wanted to get her own tanning bed, but the models we were looking at were specified by the manufacturer for use on a dedicated 20 amp breaker. From what I understand this would normally mean that in order to go to the opposite end of the house from the electrical box I would need to run a new wire into the attic, staple it all the way around the perimeter, and then run from the wall header down the destination wall.
But it occurred to me that we still have this old heating wiring, and that each of the upstairs rooms, including the target room in this case, had had its own thermostat. The box where the thermostat was removed contains just one of the wires described along with two red also apparently 12 gauge wires entering the box from different directions. One of the red wires is joined to the neutral wire with a wire nut, while the other is capped separately, as is the hot wire.

Alabama Hi, First, thanks to hints that were right on from people on this forum a couple months ago I was able to fix a dryer problem, but now for my new problem. I just bought a tanning bed commercial SunTana SunSystem from an individual who used it at home since it was new 10 years ago. About all the previous owner could tell me is that it was wired directly into a box in the wall with two volt lines Black and white , and one ground green.
They had someone run a special line to it years ago. Well, to hook it up at my house, I spliced a wire 10 X 2 plus ground from my dryer line 10, 2 X plus ground, 30 amp breaker for power, but the bed won’t turn on. The breaker is OK, and the dryer still works too. Also, after hooking the bed up I went to the other end of the house and flipped the breaker on, and I thought I heard a pop about 10 seconds later from the end of the house where the bed is. Not sure if I was imagining that though.
Some of my questions are, was it a good idea to splice off of the dryer line for power? How have others hooked up tanning beds? Any suggestions on what might be wrong? I’m sure I’ve tried to turn the machine on correctly, but I’ll keep looking into that. I’ll check for certain to see if I’m getting power to the bed after I post this.
